4、lingbusinesscaseforRFID.InordertoexplorethepotentialbusinesscaseforRFID,weconductedacasestudyusingactualRFIDdatacollectedbyamajorretailerforthecasesshippedbyoneofitsmajorsuppliers.WeshowthephysicallayoutoftheRFIDreadersonapartialsupply-chaincoveringproductmovementfromdistributionc
5、enterstoretailstores.First,intheanalysisphase,weidentifyseveralperformancemetricsthatcanbecomputedfromtheRFIDreadings.Next,usingthisRFIDdata,wecomputethevaluesofthoseperformancemetrics.Thesevaluesrepresentmeantimebetweenmovementsatdifferentlocations.Then,wediscusshowthesemeasuresc
6、anassistinimprovinglogisticalperformanceatamicrosupplychainlevelofoperationsbetweenadistributioncenterandaretailstore.Wepresenthowsuchinformationcanbevaluabletoboththeretailstoreoperatorandthesupplier.WealsodiscusstheinitiallessonslearnedfromactualRFIDdatacollectedinthefield,interm
