2、ticcore.TheprimarycoilreceivestheACelectricalinputsignal.Asaresultofmutualinduction,aninducedvoltageisobtainedacrossthesecondarycoil.Theferromagneticcoreservesthepurposeofamagneticfluxconcentratortherebyminimizinglossesduetofluxleakage.Commercialtransformersu

3、seseveraltypesofcores,whicharenamedbasedontheirgeometricshapes,forexampleI-core,U-core,E-core,potcore,toroidal,andplanar.ThismodelusesapairofE-coresformagneticfluxconcentration.Thismodeldemonstrateshowtoperformtransientsimulationsofasingle-phaseE-coretransfor

4、mer.IncludingtheeffectofanonlinearB-Hcurveinthesoft-ironcore,themodelcomputesthespatialdistributionofthemagneticandelectricfields,themagneticsaturationeffect,thetransientresponse,andthefluxleakagetothesurroundings.Twodifferentversionsofthetransformeraresimula

5、ted:thefirstonewithaturnratioofunityandthesecondonewithaturnratioof1000.ModelDefinitionThecoreofthesingle-phaseE-coretransformerconsideredhereconsistsofapairofE-cores,whichformaclosedmagneticfluxpath.Theprimaryandsecondarycoilsinthetransformerareplacedaroundt

6、hecentrallegofthecoreasshowninFigure1.AnonlinearB-Hcurvethatincludessaturationeffectsisusedtosimulatethemagneticbehaviorofthesoft-ironcore.Hysteresiseffectsinthecoreareneglected.Themodelassumesthattheprimaryandsecondarywindingsaremadeofthinwireandhavemultiple
