3、anequivalenceclassofK-cycles[M;E;],whereMisaclosedspincmanifold,EisacomplexvectorbundleoverM,and:M!Xisacontinuousmap.ItisproposedthataK-cycle[M;E;]representsaD-branecongurationwrappingthesubspace(M).Asaconsequence,theK-homologyelementdenedby[M;E;]repre-sentsaclassofD-brane
4、congurationsthathavethesamephysicalcharge.Furthermore,theK-cyclerepresentationofD-branesresemblesthemodernwayofcharacterizingfundamentalstrings,inwhichthestringsarerepresentedastwo-dimensionalsurfaceswithmapsintothespacetimemanifold.ThisclassicationofD-branesalsosuggeststheposs
