1、8ConclusionsandfutureworkInthispaper,wepresentaninnovativeframeworkforefficientlymonitoringWSNs,toachievebothefficiencyandqueryresultquality.Ourframework,coinedKSpot,DistribParallelDatabases(2011)29:113–150147utilizesanoveltop-kqueryprocessingalgorithmwedeveloped,inconjunctionwiththeconceptofin-netw

2、orkviews,inordertominimizethecostofqueryexecution.Inparticular,weformulatetheproblemofconstructingahierarchyofrecursivelydefinedtop-kviews.WethendescribetheMINTViewsalgorithmthatidentifiestheKhighest-rankedanswersefficiently.Wealsopresentastateless,non-materializedversionofMINT,coinedINT(In-NetworkT

3、op-k)Viewsthatisappropriateforsensingdevicewithlimitedmemory.Toillustratetheefficiencyofourframework,wehaveimplementedarealsysteminnesC,whichcombinesthetraditionaladvantagesofdeclarativeacquisitionframeworks,likeTinyDB,withtheideaspresentedinthiswork.Extensivereal-worldtestingandexperimentationwitht

4、racesfromUC-Berkeley,UniversityofWashingtonandIntelResearchBerkeley,showthatKSpotpresentsanupto66%ofenergysavingscomparedtoTinyDB,minimizesboththesizeandnumberofpacketstransmittedontothenetwork(upto77%),prolonginginthatwaythelongevityandhealthofaWSNdeployment.Inthefutureweplantoincorporateanautomate
