3、dingtothisProtocol,Qinggovernmentneedtopayalargenumberofreparationstotheaggressorcountries.In1911,basedonapartofthisreparations,aSchoolnamed“TsinghuaXuetang”wasbuiltasPreparatorySchoolforstudentstostudyinUnitedStates.“TsinghuaXuetang”wasthepredecessoroftoday’sTsinghuaUniversit
4、y.Thename“NationalTsinghuaUniversity”wasadoptedin1928.Sinceitsestablish,withamottoofSelf-DisciplineandSocialCommitment,TsinghuaUniversityisdedicatedtoacademicexcellence,thewell-beingofChinesesocietyandtoglobaldevelopment.Today,mostnationalandinternationalrankingsplaceTsinghuaa

6、mentationBuildingismainlybuiltfortheresearchofhydraulicsandriverdynamics.Itcontainsoffices,boardroomsandlaboratories.二校门TheOldGateTheOldGatewasbuiltin1909.TheGatewasthemainentrancetotheschoolcampusatthattime.Atthattime,theGatewasheavilyguarded.Inthoseyears,underclassmenwerenot
7、allowedtogooutofthegatewithoutpermissionfromschoolauthorities.Inaddition,inordertopreservethesanctityofthelearningenvironment,outsidepeoplewithoutpermissionwerealsoforbiddentopassthroughthegate.In1933,aftertheexpansionoftheresidentialarea,theformerenclosingwallwasmovedtofurthe
