4、tsneedtobeesmethod,forwhichbothfunctionalandstochasticde®ned.Thefunctionalmodel,alsocalledthemathe-modelsneedtobecarefullyde®ned.Whilstthefunc-maticalmodel,describesthemathematicalrelationshipstionalmodelforpreciseGPSpositioningiswelldocu-betweentheG
5、PSmeasurementsandtheunknownmentedintheliterature,realisticstochasticmodellingparameterssuchastheambiguitytermsandthebaselinefortheGPScarrierphasemeasurementsisstillbothacomponents.Thestochasticmodeldescribesthestatisti-controversialtopicandadiculttas
6、ktoaccomplishincalpropertiesofthemeasurements,whicharemainlypractice.Thecommonpracticeofassumingthattherawde®nedbyanappropriatecovariancematrix.OvertheGPSmeasurementsarestatisticallyindependentinspacelasttwodecadesthefunctionalmodelsforGPScarrierandt
