2、ONThemetricusedtoquantifytheLPIperformanceofwaveformsisbasedonstatisticalquantitiesdescribingtheInrecentyears,militaryradaroperatorshavebeenspectralpowerdensityofeachwaveform.Thespectrumwasconcernedthatthetransmittedradarsignalswillbeaconthederivedusinganumb

3、erofcloselyspacedfrequencysamples.presenceoftheradartoanenemy.Ifintercepted,theradarTwospectraaregiveninFigure1whichillustratesthesignalsalertatargettoanattackwhichcouldpromptevasiveproblemofquantifyingtheirLPIqualities.measuresorcountermeasurestobetakenbyth

4、etargetincludingthepossibilityofareprisalattackusingananti-radiationmissile.Furthermore,interceptedsignalscandivulgeoperatingparametersoftheradartotheenemy.Inresponsetothislowprobabilityofintercept(LPI)requirement,waveformshavebeendesignedtominimizetheprobab

5、ilityofinterceptbyanenemyreceiver.Thesearelargelybasedontheuseoflowpeakpowersandspreadspectrumwaveformsofferinglargeprocessinggains.Theinterceptionofsignalsisafunctionofboththetransmittedradarwaveformandtheinterceptreceiver.Theaimofthisworkistodeduceametricw

6、hichmaybeusedtoquantifyandhencecomparehow“discrete”manyofthecommonlyusedLPIradarwaveformsactuallyare.ThisstudyconsidersthefollowingLPIwaveforms[1]:LinearFrequencyModulation(LFM),SinusoidalFrequencyModulation(SinFM),Poly-PhaseShiftKeying(PPSK)techniquesinclud

7、ingFrank,P1,P2,P3,andP4codesCostascodeFrequencyShiftKeyingFigure1-PowerSpectraofTwoWaveforms.(FSK),andCostas-BarkerHybrid(FSK/PSK).ThisworkrepresentsthefirstattempttobepublishedintheopenliteraturetoquantifytheLPIpropertiesoftransmittedradarwaveforms.Securewa
