3、lation,modelsofbiologicalprocessesandmanyotherengineeringareasgovernedbyconservativesystemsthatcanbewritteninintegralcontrolvolumeform.Thisarticlereviewselementsofthefoundationandanalysisofmodernfinitevolumemethods.Theprimaryadvantagesofthesemethodsarenumericalrobustnessthroughtheobtentiono
4、fdiscretemaximum(minimum)principles,applicabilityonverygeneralunstructuredmeshes,andtheintrinsiclocalconservationpropertiesoftheresultingschemes.Throughoutthisarticle,specificattentionisgiventoscalarnonlinearhyperbolicconservationlawsandthedevelopmentofhighorderaccurateschemesfordiscretizin
