1、PrefaceThisisthefirstbookofitskindwhichdealswiththechemistryoftransitionmetal-mediatedactivationofunreactivebondsnotonlyfromtheinorganicpointofviewbutalsofromthatofsyntheticorganicchemistry.Progressinthisareahasbeenremarkablyrapid;somuchsothatamere10yearsago,acompilationsuchasthiswoul
2、dnothavebeenpossible.Theauthorsofthisvolumehave,byenlistingtheaidoftransition-metalcomplexes,beenabletoactivatemanyotherwiseunreactivebondssuchasC–H,C–C,C–O,C–F,C–Cl,C–Si,Si–Si,andevenN–Ntriplebonds.Inthisvolume,overviewsofthesesub-jectsfromtheperspectivesoforganicandinorganicchemist
3、ryareprovided.Thiscomprehensivecollectionofcatalyticandstoichiometrictransformationsshouldproveinvaluabletoawiderangeofchemists.Forpracticingsyntheticchemists,amarvelousnewworldawaitsdiscoveryinwhichpreviouslyunheardoftransformationsmaketheirsyntheticschemesshorterandmoreefficient.Ofg
