2、garepresentedinthispaper.Five3/4-scalereinforcedconcretebeam-columnjointsweretestedtoinvestigatetheseismicbehaviorofthejoints.Thevariablesinthetestedspecimensincludecolumnorientationsandthepresenceofslabsonthetopofbeams.Thespecimensweresubjectedtoquasi-staticloadreversalst
3、osimulateearthquakeloadings.Experimentalresultsobtainedincludejointshearstresses,jointshearstrains,observedcrackingandinitialstiffness.Thetestresultsprovidedsomeinformationabouttheseismicbehaviorofthespecimens.However,duetotheuniquenatureofthespecimens,severalkeyparameters
4、couldnotbevaried.Therefore,toelucidatefurtherinformation,anumericalstudyconsistingofthree-dimensionalnonlinearÞnite-elementFEmodelswascarriedout.TheFEmodelswerethenvalidatedwiththeexperimentalresults.Thiswasfollowedbyparametricstudies,carriedouttounderstandtheeffectsofse
