2、relivesinapoorandruralareaofChina,andtheterm“ManagementInformationSystems”wascompletelyforeigntothem.TheywerejustproudtohaveraisedthefirstcollegestudentfrommyvillageandwantedtobeabletotellotherswhatIwasstudying.Sayinggoodbyetothemwasn'teasy,butIknewthat
3、topursuemydreamsIwouldneedtomovetothecitytostudy.OnedayIhopetousetheknowledgegainedthroughmyeducationtobringamoreupdatedlifestyletomyhometown.LifeinBeijingwascertainlydifferentthanhome.Ecommerce,onlineclassmanagement,smartphones,andalltheotheradvancedte
4、chnologiesthatinspiredmyinterestinthisfieldfinallyjumpedoutofthepagesofmagazinesandsurroundedme.AsIfamiliarizedmyselfwiththesetoolsmyawarenessofthehugegapintechnologydevelopmentbetweenthecountrysideandcitiesbecameclearer,andmydesiretopursueacareerasanIT
5、professionalgrewstronger.Asmystudyprogressed,Istartedtoseeabiggerpictureofmanagementinformationsystems(MIS).MISisadisciplinethatintegratesmanyfields,sobecominganexpertrequiresnotonlycomputerscienceskillsbutalsoastrongbusinesssenseandstrategicmanagements
6、kills.ForthisreasonIchosetodoublemajorinMISandbusinessadministration.Thisdecisionmademyscheduleeventighter,butImanagedtomaintaina3.5GPAandfeltthatthelongtermbenefitwouldoutweighthesacrifice.SincemyjunioryearI’veworkedasaresearchassistantinthelabofadviso
