4、atsedimentactsasthefinalreceptorof137Cs,showingthatfastdepollutionoftheMediterraneanstillremainsautopia.Radioactive“hotspots”wereobservedinthenorthernAegeanSeaandlowervaluesinthesouthernAegeanSeaandIonianSea.Finally,anefforttoevaluatetheriskofionizingradia
5、tion(from137Cs)tothebiotainhabitingsedimentswasmadeusingERICA.Therespectivedoseratesfortworeferenceorganisms(benthicfishandmollusks)wereestimatedtobefarbelowthescreeningdose,atwhichtheradiologicalimpactontheabundanceofthepopulationbegins.■INTRODUCTIONnear
