2、ok.1Itwaswritteninthe1570s,atatimewhenaproliferatingnumberofconfessionsoffaithwereathandandavailableforanewsynthesisofwheretheHutteritesstood,onthebasisofbiblicaltheology.Fiveselectpointsweredecidedupon,whichtogetherexpressedthecentralandessentialelementsofAnabaptistfaithfromtheHutterianperspect
3、ive.Theresultservedwellbothforinstructionalpurposeswithinthecommunityandasawitnesstointerestedindividualsoutsideit.Fourofthesethemeswerebasictothepreservationofthemovement:believer’sbaptism,theLord’sSupper,communityofgoods,andtherelationshipofchurchandstate.Afifththemearoseoutofthemissionprogram
4、:thequestionofexistingmarriagesbetweenHutteriteconvertsandtheirnon-Hutteritespouses.TheGreatArticleBookbecamethesynthesizerandsimplifier.Itsfivearticles,presentedinaformatthatallmemberscouldunderstand,providedafoundationaroundwhichthefundamentalHutteriantruthswerebuilt.Thisworkreflectsanewerawit
