3、sessmentisbrieflydiscussed.Driver/vehicleresponsesfromtwodrivingtasksevaluatedinadriversimulatorareusedtoevaluatetheoverallvalidityofthedriver/vehiclemodel.Finally,themodelisexercisedinpredictivefashioninthecomputersimulationofalanekeepingtaskonacurvingroadwaywherethesimulatedvehicleposses

4、sedoneofthreedifferentsteeringsystems:aconventionaltwo-wheelsteeringsystemandapairoffour-wheelsteeringsystems.IntroductionVehicleandKinematicsModelsThedevelopmentofadvancedautomotivetechnologieswhichSincethegoalofthisstudyisthedevelopmentandvalidationimprovevehiclestabilityandhandlingchara

5、cteristicscanbeofalinearmodelofdriversteeringdynamics,thesimplebicyclesignificantlyacceleratedwiththehelpoftractablemodelsofmodelofautomobiledynamicswillbeemployed(Wong,1978).driversteeringdynamics.ThesemodelscanserveasusefulThefourassumptionsleadingtothelinearizedbicyclemodeltoolsinanalyt

6、icalinvestigationsofproposedvehiclecontrolare:(1)vehiclesymmetryaboutalongitudinalplanethroughsystems.Tobeuseful,suchmodelsmustbeabletopredictthecenterofgravity,(thex-zplaneofthevehicle-fixedaxes),driver/vehicleresponseswithenoughaccuracytoallowvalid(2)smallsteeringinputs,(3)nolongitudinal

7、tireforcesduetoengineeringdecisionstobemade.Inaddition,themodelsmusteitherengineorbrakingtorques,and(4)noroll,pitch,orrequireaminimumof"art"intheirapplication,sothattheyheavemotions,andnolongitudinalvelocityperturbations.canbeappliedbyengineerswhomaynotbemanua
