2、erialsexperimentsshowthattransportisusuallydominatedbydressedpositiveholecarriers.Instead,inthesuperconductingstateexperimentsshowthatthesupercurrentisalwayscarriedbyundressednegativeelectroncarriers.Theseexperimentalfactsindicatethatelectron-holeasymmetryplaysafund

3、amentalroleinsuperconductivity,asproposedbythetheoryofholesuperconductivity.PACSnumbers:I.HOLESARENOTLIKEELECTRONSthebandhaveanantibondingwavefunction,withthewavefunctionhavinganodeintheregionbetweentheions.ThisdifferenceisindependentofthenatureoftheTounderstandsuper

4、conductivityinsolidsitisessen-orbitalsgivingrisetothebands:itoriginatesinthetialtounderstandthefundamentalelectron-holeasym-factthatthestatesatthebottomofthebandchoosemetryofcondensedmatter.Thisasymmetryoriginatestheirwavefunctionsoastominimizetheirkineticplusinthef
