3、einstitutionalandtheindividuallevel?Third,whatarethesalientcharacteristicsoftherelationshipbetweenindividualandfamilyintrans-nationalmarriages?Tosharpenanalyticfoci,conceptualdistinctionshavebeenmadebetweentheobjective-structuralandthecultural-discursivedimensionsaswellasbetweenpushandpullfactorso

4、fthetransformation.Thecentralclaimwehavedevelopedinthispaperisdouble-front:ontheonehand,individualizationinKoreaseenfromtransnationalmarriagetendstoconvergewiththeWes-ternpatterninsofarasweseethisfromaneyeofpushfactorsofglobalsignificance.Ontheother,duetothedifferenceinpullfactorsparticularlyatthe
