5、ialattractorsandtheirfractaldimensionhavebeencarefullystudiedinthecaseofboundeddomains(see,e.g.,[17]andreferencestherein).However,unboundeddomainsarealsoratherinterestingforapplications.Inthiscase,thedynamicscanexhibitamorecomplexbehaviorcharacterized,forinstance,bytravellingwavesconnectingcons
6、tantequilibriaorbyacontinuumofspaceperiodicequilibria(andmuchmore,asshownin[24]).Thelackofstandardcompactinjectionsrequirenewideasandthechoiceofthetopologybecomescrucialinordernottoexcludeinterestinginvariantsolutions.Inthepioneeringpapersontheexistenceofglobalattractors[1,4]weightednormswerein
