3、ogenationof1-methyl-2-pyrroleethanolresultedin1-methyl-2-pyrrolidineethanol,animportantandvaluablepharmaceuticalintermediate.Innon-acidicmedium,withcarbonsupportedpalladiumcatalyst,applyingsolventmixturesandmildreactionconditions(6bar,80°C)highconversionandselectivitywe

5、atalystsbysecondaryortertiaryN.Pyrroleanditsderivativesareamongthemoredifficultheterocycliccompoundstosaturate.Pyrrolederivativesareconsideredtobethemostpoisonousheterocyclesincatalytichydrogenationreactions,probablybecauseoftherelativerigidityofthefive-memberedring.The
6、poisoningcanbeeliminatedbyaddingproticacidtothereactionmixture.Firstofallrhodiumandrutheniumcatalystscouldbeappliedinthesereactions[1].Inthisworktheheterogeneouscatalytichydrogenationof1-methyl-2-pyrroleethanol(1)to1-methyl-2-pyrrolidineethanol(2)wasinvestigated(Scheme1
