2、edqualitylivingenvironment,aswellasstrengthenageshiftbetweennowand2030.Over900,000ouridentityandsociety.BabyBoomers,morethanaquarterofthecurrentcitizenpopulation,willentertheirsilveryears.From2020onwards,thenumberofworking-ageThrEEPIllarSforacitizenswilldecline,asolderSingaporeansr
3、etiringSuSTaInaBlEPoPulaTIonoutnumberyoungeronesstartingwork.AtourforadYnaMIcSIngaPorEcurrentlowbirthrate,ourcitizenpopulationwillAsustainablepopulationforSingaporerestsonagerapidly,andalsostartdecliningfrom2025,ifthreekeypillars.wedonottakeinanynewimmigrants.First,Singaporeansform
4、thecoreofoursocietyandThisWhitePapersetsoutthekeyconsiderationstheheartofournation.TobeastrongandcohesiveandroadmapforSingapore’spopulationpoliciessociety,wemusthaveastrongSingaporeancore.toaddressthisdemographicchallenge.ItoutlinesStrongfamiliesarethebedrockofoursociety,theGovernm
5、ent’spoliciestomaintainastrongthroughwhichwepassonourvaluesandsenseofSingaporeancoreinthepopulation,regulatebelongingfromonegenerationtothenext.WemayEXECUTIVESUMMARYhavediversegeographicalandethnicbackgrounds,well-planned,andwell-developed.WemustmeetbutweareallSingaporeanbecausewes
6、harecertaintheinfrastructureneedsofachangingpopulationkeyvaluesandaspirations,includingmeritocracy,aandeconomyinatimelyandefficientway,whilefairandjustsociety,andrespectforoneanother’spreservingandenhancingagreenenvironment,soculturewithinabroadcommonspacewhereallthatSingaporecanbe
7、aunique,bustling‘Cityinainteractandbond.Garden’.Second,ourpopulationandworkforcemustsupportadynamiceconomythatcansteadilyMaInTaInIngaSTrongcreategoodjobsandopportunitiestomeetSIngaPorEancorESingaporeans’hopesandaspirations.ManyAsianIn2011,ourTotalFertilityRate(TFR)was1.20.Itcitiesa
