2、archicstructuresareaspecialcaseofaxiomsforprioritysettinginsystemswithfeedbackwhichallowforawideclassofdependencies.Theaxiomshighlight:(1)thereciprocalpropertythatisbasicinmakingpairedcomparisons;(2)homoge-neitythatischaracteristicofpeople'sabilityformakingcomparisonsamongthingsthatarenottoodi

3、ssimilarwithrespecttoacommonpropertyand,hence,theneedforarrangingthemwithinanorderpreservinghierarchy;(3)dependenceofalowerlevelontheadjacenthigherlevel;(4)theideathatanoutcomecanonlyreflectexpectationswhenthelatterarewellrepresentedinthehierarchy.TheAHPneitherassumestransitivity(orthestronger

4、conditionofconsistency)nordoesitincludestrongassumptionsoftheusualnotionsofrationality.AnumberoffactsarederivedfromtheseaxiomsprovidinganoperationalbasisfortheAHP.(CHOICEMODELS)1.IntroductionThebasicproblemofdecisionmakingistochooseabestoneinasetofcompetingalternativesthatareevaluatedunderconf

5、lictingcriteria.TheAnalyticHierarchyProcess(AHP)providesuswithacomprehensiveframeworkforsolvingsuchprob-lems.Itenablesustocopewiththeintuitive,therational,andtheirrational,allatthesametime,whenwemakemulticriteriaandmultiactordecisions.WecanusetheAHPtointegrateourperceptionsandpurposesintoanove

6、rallsynthesis.TheAHPdoesnotrequirethatjudgmentsbeconsistentoreventransitive.Thedegreeofconsistency(orinconsistency)ofthejudgmentsisrevealedattheendoftheAHPprocess.Mostofushavedifficultyexaminingevenafewideasatatime.Weneedinsteadtoorganizeourproblemsincomplexstructureswhichallowustothinkaboutth

7、emoneortwoatatime.Weneedsimplicityaridcomplexity.Weneedanapproachthatisconceptuallysimplesothatwecanuseiteasily.Andatthesametime,weneedanapproachthatisrobustenoughtohandlerealworlddecisionsandcomplexities.TheAnalyticHierarchyProcessissu
