2、section1303,shall,afterconsultingwithanyinterestedindividualorentityasappropriate,nolaterthanoneyearafterenactmentandeverytwoyearsthereafter,reporttoCongressconcerningthestatusofsmartgriddeploymentsnationwideandanyregulatoryorgovernmentbarrierstocontinueddeploy
3、ment.Thereportshallprovidethecurrentstatusandprospectsofsmartgriddevelopment,includinginformationontechnologypenetration,communicationsnetworkcapabilities,costs,andobstacles.ItmayincluderecommendationsforStateandFederalpoliciesoractionshelpfultofacilitatethetra
4、nsitiontoasmartgrid.Totheextentappropriate,itshouldtakearegionalperspective.Inpreparingthisreport,theSecretaryshallsolicitadviceandcontributionsfromtheSmartGridAdvisoryCommitteecreatedinsection1303;fromotherinvolvedFederalagenciesincludingbutnotlimitedtotheFede
5、ralEnergyRegulatoryCommission(“Commission”,)theNationalInstituteofStandardsandTechnology(“Institute”),andtheDepartmentofHomelandSecurity;andfromotherstakeholdergroupsnotalreadyrepresentedontheSmartGridAdvisoryCommittee.—EnergyIndependenceandSecurityActof2007,De
