4、nceofsensorswhichinferencetaskcanfailduetomultiplereasons:presenceofacom-ponentwithpermanentfailure,amaliciouscomponentprovidingmaypossiblyhavestuck-atfaultsanddiscusshowDCFECCcorruptinformation,ortheremightsimplybeanunreliablecanbeusedtoensurereliableclassification.Wethenfocusonc
5、omponentwhichrandomlyprovidesfaultydata.Therefore,itisthetargetlocalizationprobleminthepresenceofmaliciousimportanttodesignsystemswhichperformreliablyeveninthesensorscalledByzantines[4]inSec.IV.Byzantinesarelocalpresenceofsuchunreliablecomponents.Codingtheorybasedsensorswhichsend
6、falsifieddatatotheFC.Wethenmovetotechniquesprovideapossiblesolutiontothisproblem.Inthispositionpaper,wesurveysomeofourrecentworkontheuseoftherecentparadigmofcrowdsourcinginSec.Vandshowcodingtheorybasedtechniquesforthedesignofsomesignalhowerror-correctingcodescanbeusedtoensurerelia
7、bleprocessingapplications.Asexamples,weconsiderdistributedcrowdsourcinginthepresenceofunreliablecrowdworkersclassificationandtargetlocalizationinwirelesssensornetworks.[5].WeconcludeinSec.VIwherewedrawattentiontotheWealsoconsiderthemorerecentparadigmofcrowdsourcingandfactthatthere
