3、sanddatacenterswithworld-classspecs.Thecampusholds6officebuildingswithatotalareaof120,000m2andenoughparkingfor3,500cars.Asmallshoppingarea,restaurantsandservicecenterwerealsobuiltonsite.Thecompletedprojectaccommodates8,000—10,000officeworkers.GDUwashiredtore
4、viewthemasterplanandtodesignallopenspaces(plazas,gardens,on-gradeparking,pedestrianways,etc.)Inaddition,thelandscapepracticedesignedthereceptionbuilding,cafeteriaandpergolaaswellasasmalltransitcenterandpolicesubstationunderanadjoiningunderpassbridge.Thesite,
5、aformersteelplatesandrodsproductionplant,wascloseddownintheearly1990’sduetoitsobsolescenceandaspartofapolicytoimproveairqualityintheValleyofMexicoCity.TheCityandbackthenacquiredapproximately15hectaresofland,andthepresentcityAdministrationre-soldittotheprojec
6、t’sclient(agroupofprivatedevelopersspecializedinofficebuildings),offeringincentivesforthecreationofpermanenttertiarysectorjobs,andtouselimitedamountsofwaterfromthecity’smains.Thelandscapeplanhadtotakeseveralaspectsintointegralconsideration,andallowthemtoconc
7、eptuallyguidetheproject.Primeamongthemwasthewatersupplyissue.Thelandscapearchitects,alongwithconsultingengineers,developedaconcepttocollectrainwaterfromtheroofsofbuildingsandplazas,storeitinretentioncellsandsendittodeepwells(atapproximately80meters)torecharg
