3、ientattitudetowardstrongpowers.ChinahashadapowerfulinfluenceontheKoreaPeninsulainitshistory,whichwasthepredecessoroftheSouthKorea.TherewasatimeinKoreanhistorythatthreenativeKoreankingdoms,Koguryo,PaekcheandSillawerefoundedinthepeninsula,butnoneofthemwerestrongenoug
4、htooverthrowtheothertwokingdomsandformauniteddynasty.Oneofthesekingdoms,Silla,afterforminganalliancewiththeTangDynasty,conqueredKoguryoandPaekcheby668AD(Koreahistory).ItshowsthatancientKoreahandleditsinternalaffairswiththehelpofstrongpowersinsteadofonitsown.Theirwa
5、ytohandlepoliticalproblemsindicatestheirworshipofstrongpowers,resultingintheirattitudestopowerfulforces.ItalsooccurredinhistorythatKoryofirstsurrenderedtotheSongDynastybutimmediatelybecameavassaloftheLiaoDynastywhenthelattergrewstronger.WhentheYuanDynastybecamethem
6、ostpowerfulstateandthreatenedtoreplacebothSongandLiao,KoreaabandonedLiaoandsurrenderedtoYuanimmediately.TheKoreannationhadtosurrendertothecontinentalmonarchs,nomattertheyaregoodorbad,whichfullyshowsKorea’sdependenceandweakness(Li21).TheSouthKoreannation,calledas“wh
