3、,Ifoundthatmyacademicstandingwasonlysomewhereinthemiddleechelonofacompetitivebandofstudents.IstillrememberthatmytypicalprideofayoungmanwaswoundeduponbeingtoldthatthetotalofscoresintheEntranceExaminationsearnedbysomeofmyclassmateswereamongthetop10highestinthecountry.Themediocrest
4、atusIhadamongthisgroupofhighlyintelligentyoungsterswastoomuchablemishtomyrecord,sinceIhadgotusedtotophonorsandprizessincemychildhood.Ialsofoundmyselftroubledbythewaymyinternationalteacherstaught,whichseemedtobehighlydemandingtomeatthetime.Iamrecountingthisexperienceofmineonlytod
5、emonstrateaqualityIbelieveIpossess-theabilitytoexcelinthefaceofchallenges.Infact,theoutcomeofmyeffortsinundergraduatestudiesdidprovethatthedeterminationthatIconceivedatthebeginningofcollegeyearstoexcelmyclassmatewasnotabreedofvanity.BythetimeIcompletedmyfouryearsofundergraduates
6、tudies,Ihadoutperformedmostofmyclassmates.Onthestrengthofmyoutstandingacademicrecord,Iwaschosenbymyprofessorstoenterintothegraduateprogramofmyuniversitywithouthavingtopassthenormallymandatoryadmissiontest,aprivilegethatisonlyreservedfortheverybeststudentseachgraduationyear.Foury
