4、ohnFitzpatrickAbstractThisprojectexploresthedevelopmentofamultipleinputmultipleoutput(MIMO)simulatorusingraytracingtechniques.Thisprojectgivesanoverviewofraytracingtechniques,beamforming,MIMOchannelmodelsandMIMOsystems.ItexplainstheabilityofMIMOsystemstooffersignificantca

5、pacityincreasesovertraditionalwirelesssystems,byexploitingthephenomenonofmultipath.Bymodellinghighfrequencyradiowavesastravellingalonglocalizedlineartrajectorypaths,theycanbeapproximatedasrays,justasinoptics.TheradioenvironmentisthenrepresentedusingaraytracingC++program.I

6、highlightsomeofthedifferentapproachesusedtorealizeaMIMOsystem,themostimportantbeingtheSingularValueDecomposition(SVD).IillustratethedevelopmentoftheMIMOsimulator,throughexplanationsofthetechniquesandalgorithmsIdevelopedandused.Thesealgorithmsmodelthesystemunderidealcondit
