2、stract--ThispaperpresentsthedesignofanoptimalcomparedtoGCSC.dynamicneurocontrollerforanewtypeofFACTSdevice-theTheserieslinereactanceisoneofthemainfactorswhichGateControlledSeriesCapacitor(GCSC)incorporatedinagovernthemaximumpowerflowthroughatransmissionl

3、ine.multi-machinepowersystem.TheoptimalneurocontrollerisTheconventionaltechniqueforrealpowercontrolistousedevelopedbasedontheHeuristicDynamicProgramming(HDP)fixedcapacitorsinserieswiththetransmissionline,thusapproach.Inaddition,adynamicidentifier/modelan

4、dcontrollerstructureusingtherecurrentneuralnetworktrainedwithreducingeffectiveinductivereactanceoftheline.ThismethodBackpropagationThroughTime(BPTT)isemployed.Simulationcanincreasetherealpowerflowinthelineandcanachieveresultsarepresentedtoshowtheeffectiv

5、enessofthedynamicstabilitylimitclosetoitsthermallimits.ButfixedcapacitorsneurocontrolleranditsperformanceiscomparedwiththatofthedonotprovideoptionsforcontrollingthepowerflowconventionalPIcontrollerundersmallandlargedisturbances.accordingtotherequirements

6、whichmayvaryovertime.Thus,theadvantageofdeployingseriesFACTSdevicesIndexTerms-GCSC,DynamicNeurocontroller,MultimachinePowerSystem,FACTS,HeuristicDynamicProgramming,BPTT(TCSCandGCSC)forsuchconditions.WiththyristororGTOcontrolledseriescapacitors,theeffecti

7、vecapacitivereactanceofthecompensatorcanbevariedprovidingdynamiccontrolI.INTRODUCTIONofrealpowerflowinalineovercertainrangeofoperation.Inaddition,itmayprovidedampingtothesystemduringOWADAYS,itisbecomingincreasinglydifficulttotransients.Nbuildnewelectricp
