4、erringbus.OptionB:the99MWEliewindfarmwouldadvancethe30kmDorsey-Eliesectionofaplannednew230kVDorsey-Portageline.ThenewDorsey-PortagelinewouldbetappedatElieviaasingle230kVbreaker,creatingathree-terminallinewhentheremainingElie-Portagelineisbuilt.ACcontingencyanalysiswasperfor

5、medforN-1andN-2contingenciesduringsystemintactconditions,andN-1contingenciesduringcritical230kVprioroutages.TherewerenoN-1thermaloverloadsimpactedbytheEliewindfarmthatrequiredfurtherinvestigation.ThereforenoNetworkUpgradesorInterconnectionSystemUpgradesarerequired.TheManito

6、baHydroTransmissionSystemInterconnectionRequirements(TSIR)[1]statethattheGeneratormustprovidereactivesupplythatisabletocontrolthevoltagelevelattheElie230kVbusbyadjustingtheMachine’spowerfactorbetweenaminimumof0.95overexcitedand0.95underexcitedatthegeneratorintermediatebuswi

7、thaminimumresponsetimeof15seconds.ForOptionA,theTurbineAwindturbineswouldneedadditionalVARsupportintheformof3x10MVArswitchedcapacitorsplusan8MVArSTATCOMonthe34.5kVbus.ForOptionB,theTurbineAwindturbineswouldneedadditionalVARsupportintheformof4x10MVArswitchedcapacitorsonthe34
