3、gytransmissionsystems.ExpertsfromBelgium,Canada,Finland,France,Germany,Ireland,Italy,Japan,Netherlands,U.K.,andUSAworkedtogetheranddescribedsolutionsforthischallengeintheircountries.Thisreportisfocusedonthefollowingtopics:-PowerFlowControlandcontingencymanagementinnetworks-frequen
4、cycontrol-gridstability-reactivepowerandvoltagecontrol-influenceontheconventionalgeneration-regulationandsupportstrategiesForPowerFlowandPowerFlowControlproblemsareaddressedwhichdescribethefact,thatlargeunexpectedfluctuationsinwindpowercancauseadditionalloopflowsthroughthetransmis
5、siongrid.Whenalargepowerdeviationhastobebalancedbyothersources,thesesourcesarenotnecessarilylocatednearthewindpark.Fortheflowsthroughtheparalleltransmissionpaths,thedirectionofthispowerdeviationmayreverse,makingitverydifficulttoreliablyoperatethem.Partlyinordertohavealevelofcontro
6、lontheirpowersystem,somesystemoperatorsareactuallyinstallingpowerflowcontrollingdevicesinthetransmissionsystem.Currentlythereisnoclearlegislationwhichdealswithreimbursingcostsrelatedtothisissue.Thepreferredsolutiontothisproblemistobuildadditionalhighvoltagetransmissionsystems,butt
7、hisisaverydifficultandtime-consumingprocess.CongestionsinnetworkscausedbywindpowerareaddressedfromthemarketsideofviewusingIntra-zonalandCross-bordercongestionmanagementmethodsaswellasfromthetechnicalsideofviewusingFACTSdevices.Alsosomestatisticalaspectsofthewindinducedpowerfloware
