3、tematicapproachinaircraftconfigurationdesignoptimization.Itfirstdiscussesthedesignparameters,constraints,objectivesfunctionsandcriteriaandthenaircraftconfigurationclassifications.Thentherelationshipbetweeneachmajordesignoptionandthedesignrequirementsareevaluated.Thenthesystemsengineeringprincipalsar

5、eoffweight.Fromthepointofviewofanaircraftmanufacturer,however,thismethoddoesnotguaranteethefinancialviabilityofanaircraftprogram.Abetterdesignapproachwouldtakeintoaccountnotonlyaircraftperformanceandmanufacturingcost,butalsofactorssuchasaircraftflyingqualities,andsystemsengineeringcriteria.Thehistor

6、icalchoiceofminimizinggrosstake-offweight(GTOW)astheobjectiveinaircraftdesignisintendedtoimproveperformanceandsubsequentlyloweroperatingcosts,primarilythroughreducedfuelconsumption.However,suchanapproachdoesnotguaranteetheoptimalityofagivenaircraftdesignfromtheperspectiveoftheaircraftconsumer.Inanin
