2、ionsbyregularpreventivemaintenance.Thetaskofschedulingistoevolveoptimalpreventivemaintenanceschedulegeneratormaintenanceisoftenperformedmanuallybyhumanofgeneratingunitsforeconomicalandreliableoperationofaexpertswhogeneratetheschedulebasedontheirexperiencepowe
3、rsystemwhilesatisfyingsystemloaddemandandcrewandknowledgeofthesystem,andinsuchcasesthereisnoconstraints.Inthispaper,thedifferentialevolution(DE),anguaranteethattheoptimalornearoptimalscheduleisfound.evolutionarycomputationalgorithmthatutilizesthedifferentialT
4、hepurposeofmaintenanceschedulingistofindtheinformationtoguideitsfurthersearch,isappliedtoeffectivelysequenceofscheduledoutagesofgeneratingunitsoverasolvethegeneratormaintenancescheduling(GMS)optimizationproblem.Theproposedmethodcanhandlemixedintegerdiscretegi
5、venperiodoftimesuchthatthelevelofenergyreserveiscontinuousoptimizationproblems.Resultsarepresentedwiththemaintained.ThistypeofscheduleisimportantmainlybecauseDEalgorithmontwodifferentcasestudiesforNigerianpowerotherplanningactivitiesaredirectlyaffectedbysuchs
6、ystem.decisions.Inmodernpowersystems,thedemandforelectricityhasgreatlyincreasedwithrelatedexpansionsinIndexTerms--Differentialevolution,discreteoptimization,systemsize,whichhasresultedinhighernumberofgeneratormaintenance,Nigerianpowersystem,optimalgeneratorsa
