3、siaAbstract-Fe,.,Ni,alloyswerepreparedbymechanicalalloyingofelementalpowdersinhigh-energyplanetaryballmillinawideconcentrationrangeofcomponents(10sx-40).ThestructurewasstudiedbyX-raydiffractometry.Itisshownthatconcentrationrangesofsingle-phasesolidsolution
4、ofMAsamplesaremarkedlywiderthanthatofthermodynamicallystablealloys.CharacterofX-raypeaksindicatesthatthereisahighdensityofcrystallinelatticedefectsincludingstackingfaults.Blocksizes,calculatedwithoutconsideringstackingfaultspresence,wasfoundtobe8-15nm,andc
5、alculatedwithconsideringofstackingfaults30-80nm.TheresultswerediscussedonthebasisofthermodynamicmodelofMA.01999ActaMetallurgicainc.INTRODUCTIONPossibilityofproductionofnonequilibriumphasesandverydefectivestructuresinduceespecialinteresttotheprocesseswhicho
6、ccurduringMA.Itispossibletoprepareamorphousphases,supersaturatedsolidsolutions,andothernonequilibriumstructuresbyMA.UnusualdistributionofstructuredefectscomparingtothoseinthealloyspreparedbytraditionalmethodsistypicalfortheMAalloys.Iron-nickelalloysareofgr
7、eatinterestduetotheirmagneticandmechanicalproperties.Therearesomestudies,wherestructureandpropertiesofMAiron-nickelalloyswereinvestigated.Unfortunately,investigationofMAFe-Nialloysinawideconcentrationrangewasreportedonlyinfewstudies[l-31.Concentrationrange
8、sofb.c.c.andf.c.c.phasesexistinginMAFe-Nialloysdependonmillingintensity:anincreaseofintensityleadstoextendingoftheconcentrationrangeofexistingoff.c.cphaseandtonarrowingofthatofb.c.cphase[1,3].Thisphenomenamay
