3、dinporousaluminamembranes(PAM)bythethermalchemicalvapordecomposition(CVD)ofpropylene(Pr)gasaredescribedWefoundthatthegraphiticcharacterofCNTsimprovedasCVDtemperaturewasincreasedfrom500to800“C.Samplesshowedprogressiveincreasesinmetallicappearanceana’layeredtubewallst
4、ructureanddecreasesinelectricalresistance.Nofurtherenhancementofgraphitizationwasobservedamongsamplesformedat800,900and1000°C.X-raydiffraction(XRD)indicatedthatlong-rangeorderwasabsentinallCNTstested.Localizedcrystallinedomainsofgraphiticcarbon,however,weredetectedb
5、yRamanspectroscopyandseeninlightanddarkfieldtransmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM)images.CNTsformedinthepresenceofcatalyticFeandCoparticlesat600and700“CwithaPr/N,flowrateof94seem(standardcubiccentimetersperminute)showedslightlylowerelectricalresistancethanCNTsformedinc
6、ontrolexperiments.ThecatalyticeffectsofFeandCowereobservedforsamplesmadeat800“Cwitha50seemP/N2flowrateas“nanotubeswithinnanotubes”wereformed.Nomajordtrerenceswerefoundbetweencatalyst-containingandcontrolsamplesformedattemperaturesgreaterthanorequalto800“Cat94seem.01
