3、itispossibletoreduceitsmagneticlosses.Thiswasclearlydemonstratedinnanostructuredmagneticalloysbasedonthethermalcrystallizationofamorphousribbons.However,thisdemonstrationhasbeenverydiflcultforothernanostructuredmaterials,mainlybecausemostofthemarebasedonpowderproces
4、sing.Thisstudypresentsthesynthesisandpropertiesofnanostructuredmagneticmaterialsproducedbypulsedelectrodeposition.Surprisingly,comparedtoothersynthesistechniques,electrodepositionhasreceivedlittleattentionforproducinglargequantitiesoffullydensenanostructuredmaterial
5、s.InthisworkwedescribesomeoftheelectrodepositionparametersleadingtotheproductionofnanostructuredFeandFe-richedFe-Nialloys.Somemagneticpropertiesobtainedusingavibratingsamplemagnetometerarealsopresented.01999ActaMetallurgicaInc.INTRODUCTIONThefieldofnanostructuredmat
6、erialshasgrownconsiderablyinthelastfifteenyears.Moreandmoreresearchersrealizethatthecontrolofmaterialsstructureonthenanometerscaleisthekeytouniqueproperties.Atthesametime,highthroughputsynthesisprocesseshavebeendeveloped.Itisinterestingtolookbrieflybackatoneareathat
7、was,10yearsago,clearlyatthefarfrontofthepresentnanostrnctnrerevolution.In1988,Yoshizawaetal.[l]presentedastudyonnanocompositemagneticmaterialsproducedbythethermalannealingofamorphousribbons.Theyshowedatthattimethat,throughajudiciouschoiceofthematerialscomposition,it
8、waspossibleduringthermalannealingtofavoranincreaseinthenucleationrateandareductionofthegraingrowth.Thefinalendproductswerenanocompositerib
