3、del(SAR)isimportantbecauseofthemanyapplicationdomains,suchasregionaleconomics,ecology,environmentalmanagement,publicsafety,transportation,publichealth,business,travelandtourism.However,itiscomputationallyveryexpensivebecauseoftheneedtocomputethedeterminantofalargematrixduetoM
4、aximumLikelihoodTheory.Thelimitationofpreviousstudiesistheneedfornumerouscomputationsofthecomputationallyexpensivedeterminanttermofthelikelihoodfunction.Inthispaper,wepresentafaster,scalableandNOvelpRedictionandestimationTecHniquefortheexactSpaTialAutoRegressionmodelsolution(
5、NORTHSTAR).Weprovideaproofofthecorrectnessofthisalgorithmbyshowingtheobjectivefunctiontobeunimodular.AnalyticalandexperimentalresultsshowthattheNORTHSTARalgorithmiscomputationallyfasterthantherelatedapproaches,becauseitreducesthenumberofevaluationsofthedeterminantterminthelik
