3、idated.Excellentpredictionsoftheresponseofthetubeswerefoundbyusingisotropicelasticity,thevonMisesyieldcriterion,theassociated#owruleandnon-linearisotropicstrainhardening.Theplasticmaterialparameterssuchastheinitialyieldstressandthestrainhardeningweredeterminedfromun

4、iaxialtensiletests.Thegeometrywasmodelledusingshellelementsandasmalltriggerintheextrusionside-wallrepresentedtheinitialgeometricalimperfections.Thevalidatedmodelwasusedtostudytheresponseofsquarealuminiumtubes,varyingthemassoftheprojectileandtheimpactvelocity.Thesimu
