3、erogeneousnetwork,thosecharacterswillaffectTCPandresultinperformancedegradation.WiththeproblemofTCPperformancedegradationinheterogeneousnetwork,thispaperdescribesthreedifferentworkingmechanismintelligentgatewayandcomparedtheadvantagesanddisadvantagesofthreeintelligentgateways,weremov
4、edwindownoticingfunctionofOSintelligentgatewayandintroducedtwodifferentworkingprinciplebandwidthestimationalgorithmsinit.WMintelligentgatewaywhichmodifiedbyOSintelligentgatewaycallstheappropriatebandwidthestimationalgorithmtoestimatethelinkbandwidthaccordingtolinkstate,thusTheflowofe
5、achTCPconnectioncouldbeadjustedandallconnectionswouldhaveequalbandwidthtoutilizethelinkresourcesasmuchaspossible.Thesimulationresultsshowthatwhenthewirelesschannelloadislight,WMintelligentgatewayenableswirelesschannelbandwidthutilizationincreasedby20%ormore.whenthewirelesschannelload
6、isheavy,WMintelligentgatewayenableseachTCPconnectionconvergetosteadystatequickly,however,theeffectofWMintelligentgatewayisnotespeciallynoticeablebecauseeachTCPconnectionhasaverylimitedbandwidth.TheWMintelligentgatewayhasacertaintheoreticalvaluetoTCPperformanceimprovementinheterogeneo
