1、ABSTRACTCarbonnanotubes(CNTs)areseamlesshollowtubesobtainedbyrollinggraphenewithsingleormultilayersalongagivendirectionandreconnectingthecarbonbonds,whicharerichinone-dimensionalnanopores.Becauseoftheirsmallscaleintheradialdirection,CNTshavelargespecif

2、icsurfacearea.CompositescomposedofCNTsandmetals,whichutilizethespecialmicrostructureofCNTsandthehydrogenadsorptionbehaviorofmetals,arepromisingmaterialsforhydrogenstorage.Inthispaper,catalystsontitaniumpowderswerepreparedbydeposition-precipitationmetho

3、d,andCNTsWeresynthesizedontitaniumpowdersbychemicalvapordepositionmethod.Theeffectsofthekindsofcatalysts,thecontentsofNiinNi/Ticatalysts,andtheCNTssynthesizedtemperaturesWerestudiedindetails.ExperimentresultsrevealthatwhenNiiSselectedascatalyst,CNTsCan

4、besynthesizedonthetitaniumpowderat550oC.Underthistemperature,theCNTs/TicompositepowdersweresynthesizedwithdifferentNicontentsinNi/Ticatalysts.TheelectrochemicalhydrogenstorageresultsshowthatwhentheNicontentis3wt%,theelectrochemicalhydrogenstoragecapaci

5、tyofCNTs/Tisampleishighest.H2adsorptiontestindicatesthatH2isadsorbedintoCNTsbyphysicaladsorptionat25oCand-196oC,whileCNTs/TiadsorbsH2bychemicalandphysicaladsorptionat300oC.AtthesameH2pressure,thehydrogenstoragecapacityofCNTs/Tiat300oCishighestamongthet

6、hreetemperaturesconsideredinourresearch.WealsostudiedtheeffectofballmillingonthehydrogenstoragepropertyofCNTs/TisampleswhicharemixeddirectlywithpureTipowderandCNTs.Afterballmilling,thelengthsofCNTsareshortenandthedefectsinCNTsisincreased.Itisfoundthatt
