2、vity.Thenoisecomponentofthissignal,or“newsshock,”hasthefeaturesofanaggregatedemandshock:itincreasesoutput,employmentandinflationintheshortrunandhasnoeffectsinthelongrun.Thedynamicsoftheeconomyfollowinganaggre-gateproductivityshockarealsoaffectedbythepresenceofimperfectinformation:afterapro
3、ductivityshockoutputadjustsgraduallytoitshigherlong-runlevel,andthereisatemporarynegativeeffectoninflationandemployment.Acalibratedversionofthemodelisabletogeneraterealisticamountsofshort-runvolatilityduetodemandshocks,inlinewithexistingtime-seriesevidence.Thepaperalsodevelopsatractableme
