2、ortunatelyinourcountryitslessused.Historically,thedevelopmentofGPRcomesfromtheuseofradioechosoundingtodetermineicethicknessanditwasonlyashortsteptoenlargethedomainofresearchsuchaspermafrost,geologicalinvestigation(bedrock,sedimentology),environmentalassessmentandhydrogeophysicalstudies(under
3、-groundwaterlocation,soilwatercontent).TheGPRmethodmeasuresthetraveltimeofelectromagneticimpulsesinsubsurfacematerials.Animpulseradarsystemradiatesrepetitiveelectromagneticimpulsesintothesoil.Abandwidthantennaisusuallyplacedincloseproximityandelectromagneticcoupledtothegroundsurface.Itdetect
4、sandmeasuresthedepthofreflectingdiscontinuitiesinsubsurfacesoilsandotherearthmaterialstowithinafewcentimetersdependingofantennafrequency.Forover30years,GPRhasbeenusedextensivelyforhydropedologicalinvestigations.Ourresearchaimstodeterminethegroundwatertoestimatethedegreeofevolutionofhydro-geo
