3、curityobjectivesasawhole.Asaconsequence,thebusinessnetworkneedstoagreeonacommonstrategy,jointprocessesandtechnicalinterfacestomeetregulatoryorvoluntaryrequirementsfromindustrystandards.Realityshowsthat–evenifstandardsexist–theyarenotharmonizedandaccessandreconciliationbetweenpartnersissomet
4、imeslegally,ifnottechnicallyimpossible,orsimplytooexpensive.Theseriousandeconomicassessmentofrisks,alreadytoughontheinternalscale,becomesalmostaninsurmountableobstaclewhenconsideringtheentirebusinessnetwork.Thispaper’sobjectiveistoemphasizetheimportanceofsecurityinbusinessnetworksforresearc
5、handpractice.Sincethereislittleresearchavailable,itraisesmajorquestionstobeansweredbyafutureresearchagenda.Abasicresearchframeworkisderivedbasedonrelatedresearch,anobservationoftheinterdependenciesoffirmsandaseriesofcasesfromdifferentindustrysectors.Finally,thepaperdiscusseswhichfactorsandi
