3、arlightconditions.Thus,mostdisadvantagescharacterizingconventionaldigitalholography,namelytheneedforapowerful,highlycoherentlaserandextremestabilityoftheopticalsystem,areavoided.Theproposedholographicprocessesarecomposedoftwostages.Inthefirststage,regularintensity-basedimagesofthe3-Dscenearecap
4、turedfrommultiplepointsofviewbyasimpledigitalcamera.Inthesecondstage,theacquiredprojectionsaredigitallyprocessedtoyieldthecomplexdigitalhologramofthe3-Dscene,wherenointerferenceisinvolvedintheprocess.Forhighlyreflecting3-Dobjects,theresultinghologramisequivalenttoanopticalhologramoftheobjectsre
5、cordedfromthecentralpointofview.Wefirstreviewvariousmethodstoacquirethemultipleviewpointprojections.Theseincludetheuseofamicrolensarrayandamacrolensarray,aswellasdigitallygeneratedprojectionsthatarenotacquiredoptically.Next,weshowhowtodigitallyprocesstheacquiredprojectionstoFourier,Fresnel,andima
6、geholograms.Additionally,toobtaincertainadvantagesovertheknowntypesofholograms,theproposedhybridoptical-digitalprocesscanyieldnoveltypesofhologramssuchasthemodifiedFresnelhologramandtheprotectedcorrelationhologram.Theprospectivegoalofthesemethodsistofacilitatethedesignofasimpleandportabledigital
7、holographiccamerathatcanbeusefulforavarietyofpracticalapplications,including3-Dvideoacquisitionandvarioustypesofbiomedicalimaging.Wereviewseveraloftheseapplicationstosignifytheadvantagesofmultipleviewpointprojectionh
