4、stimation.Toassesstheperformanceofdierentchannelestimators,IutilizetheLTElinklevelsimulatordevelopedattheInstituteofCommunicationsandRadio-FrequencyEngineering(INTHFT),ViennaUniversityofTechnology.Thechannelestimatorsarecomparedintermsofthroughputofthecompletesys
5、temforslowlyandrapidlychangingchannels.TheLeastSquares(LS)channelestimatorwithlinearinterpolationisloosing2dB,andtheLinearMinimumMeanSquareError(LMMSE)channelestimator0.5dBwithre-specttothesystemwithperfectchannelknowledge.Inordertoreducethecomplexity,whilepreserv
6、ingtheperformanceoftheLMMSEchannelesti-mator,ApproximateLinearMinimumMeanSquareError(ALMMSE)chan-nelestimatorsarealsoinvestigated.Ipresentimplementationsofsuchanapproximatechannelestimatorforslowlychangingchannelsandforrapidlychangingchannels.TheALMMSEestimatorfor
7、blockfadingusesthecorrela-tionbetweentheLclosestsubcarriers.Inthefastfadingcase,theALMMSEestimatorutilizesthestructureofthechannelautocorrelationmatrix.Fur-thermore,thisthesisshowssomesimulations,fromwhichtheblockfadingassumptioncanbeproofedvalidforvelocitiesuptoa
