5、ansformationofasinglecomponentvesicle,usingaphasefieldapproach.Whileourgoalistostudythedeformationandinteractionofsuchvesiclesundervariousexternalfields,suchastheflowfieldsorelectricfields,herewefirstfocusonthefundamentalsofthephasefieldformulationanditsnumericalapproximat
6、ionsintheabsenceoftheappliedfields.Theusualsinglecomponentvesiclesareformedbycertainamphiphilicmoleculesassembledinwatertobuildbilayers.Theyarethesimplestmodelsforthebiologicalcellsandmolecules.Theequilibriumshapeofsuchanmembraneisdeterminedbytheshapeenergy.Intheisot
