3、ailablerandomizedcontrolledtrialsofacupunctureformigraineurswasconductedinthefivefollowingelectronicdatabases:CochraneCentralRegisterofControlledtrials,MEDLINE,EMBASE,PsycINFOandCINAHL.Informationofselectedacupointsandtreatmentcoursewasextractedfromtheincludedtrials.Thenweanalyzedthetrea
4、tmentmethodsusedinthesetrials,toidentifyanysimilaritiesoftherapeuticapproaches.Additionally,qualityofalltheincludedtrialswasassessed.Atlast,theextractedinformationofacupunctureprotocolswasanalyzed,andthesimilaritiesoftherapeuticapproachesweresummedup.Bilateraluseofthefollowingpointsisre
5、commended:Fengchi(GB20),Taiyang(EX-HN5),etc.De-qisensationisrequestedinacupuncturemanipulatingprocedure,andmanualstimulationissuggested.Theoptimaltreatmentfrequencyistwiceaweekwithoneweekrestbetweenthefirst10andthelast10sessions.Additionally,thedurationofonetreatmentsessionoughttobe30min
6、utes,whileitisrecommendedtouseabout20needlesinonesession.Thetotaldurationofanacupuncturetreatmentshouldbeatleast10weeks.Theprotocolanalyzedfromtrialswithpositiveresultsisdifferentfromtrialswithnegativeinnumberoftreatmentsessions.Thereforeinfuturetrials,enoughacupuncturetreatmentsessions
