3、imitednumberoftheLonMakercredils，usingLonMakernetworkmanagementtoolshallgreatlyincreasetheuser’scost．ThenhowtoreducethecostofLonWorksnetworksconfigurationandmaintenanceisacrucialpointforourbuildingintegrationengineenng，andthisispreciselyoneoftheaimsofthispaper．AlowcostLonWorksnetworkm

4、anagementtoolisproposedinthispaperbasedontheLNSoperatingsystem，OurexperimentsshowthatthisadvancedtoolCanreducethecostofconfigurationandmaintenanceremarkably．InthechapterI，thedevelopmentprocessofbuildingautomaticcontrolsystemandthebasicknowledgeofLonWorksnetworkmanagementtoolnOWusedare

5、outlinedasthefundamentalinformationofthispaper．ThenthetheoryandthedevelopingmethodofLonWorksnetworkdevicesaredescribedalongwiththeLonTalkprotocol，whichisthespecialruleabidedbyLonWorksnetwork．inthethirdchapter,thecharacteristicsoftheLNSoperationsystem，itswindowsprogrmnmeframeworkandits

6、effectstodevelopnetworkmanagementtoolofeachpartofLNSaredescribedindetail．Thentheutilitiesofthewholenetworkmanagementtoolaredesigned，andthefunctionandthesoftwareflowchartofeachmodulearediscussed．Finally,thedesignofeachmoduleinterfaceisillustratedparticularlyinthevisualbasicprogrammecir
