3、lementsofBayan-bulakmeteorologicalstationconventionalgroundobservationdatafrom2000to2013,thecha-racteristicsofclouddistributioninthemountainareaofBayanbulakwerecomparedandana-lyzed.TheresultsshowthattheoccurrenceofmiddleandlowcloudsinBayanbulakwas17,160times,ac

4、countingfor84%ofthetotalnumberofcloudobservationsfrom2000to2013;amongthem,theconversiondaysthatmiddleandlowcloudsdevelopedprecipitationreached40.3%.OccurrencephaseofstratiformcloudandundulatuscloudwerelongerthanconvectivecloudinBayanbulak,butthenumberofconvecti

5、vecloudappearedmorethanstratiformcloudandundu-latuscloud.Therainydaysandprecipitationwerethemostduringoccurrencephaseofconvectivecloud,andtherainydaystooksecondplaceduringperiodofstratiformcloudandundulatuscloudappeared,buttheamountofprecipitationincreasedsligh

6、tlywiththeincreaseofrainydays.Theearlycoldseasonofalternateperiodsofdifferentcloudswaslongerthanthatofearlywarmsea-son,andthecorrespondingrainydaysandprecipitationweremorethanthatofearlywarmsea-son.Therefore,intheyear,thepotentialofartificiallyinducingprecipita

7、tionduringtheoccur-renceperiodofstratiformcloudandundulatuscloudislargerthanthatoftheconvectivecloud,butthepotentialofartificialprecipitationinduceintheperiodoftheconvectivecloudisthelarg-est.Thusit’sthebesttimetocarryoutartificiallyinducingprecipitationoperati
