3、eextensiveresearchonLICindevelopedworld,empiricalworkisstillrareindevelopingworld.InthispaperthetheoryofLICisfirstlyoverviewed.ThenanewevaluationindexsystemforLICevaluationissetupwhichcontainsfactorsthatreflecttheeconomicdevelopmentlevel,transportationa
4、ccessibility,turnovervolumeoffreighttrafficandconveyanceavailability.Secondly,anempiricalstudyiscarriedoutbyusinghierarchyclusteranalysismethodtoclassifyLICinto3clustersfor31majorprovincesorregionsinPeople'sRepublicofChina.Thirdly,accordingtothecharacte
5、risticsofthe3clusters,suggestionsareproposedforimprovingtheirLIC.Finally,aftercomparingdifferentLICof31majorprovincesorregionsinPeople'sRepublicofChina,thispaperfocusesonthatdifferentlogisticsinfrastructureincludingHub,CentralDistributionCenter&CrossDoc
6、kingCenter,RegionalDistributionCenterorDistributionCentershouldbebuildreasonablyinordertomeetthecustomer’srequirementinthe3differentclusterregions.1.IntroductionWiththeaccessionintotheWTO,modernlogisticinChinapossessthegreatdevelopmentopportunity[1].Sha
