3、militarysurveillance；environmentalmonitoring；medicalsanitation；physiologicalmonitoring；smartspaces；tragedysalvation．Anditalsohasbeenhighlyvaluedbyacademicandindustrialfields．Timesynchronizationisafundamentalserviceforbothdesignandapplicationofwirelesssensor

4、networks．However,thecomplexity,energy,costandsizeconflictsbetweentraditionalalgorithmsuchasNTPandGPSandWSNprohibittheiruseinWSN．Becauseofthecost，powerandsizeconstraintsoftheindividualnodes，therearemanynewchallenges．Developingtimesynchronizationmethodssuitab

5、leforwirelesssensornetworkshaveattractedwideattention．First，thenecessity,fundamentalprinciplesandthekeyfactorsofthetimesynchronizationinWSNareanalyzedinthisthesis．Thenthesynchronizationtechnologyisclassifiedandsomerepresentiveandadvantagealgorithmsaredeeply

6、discussedandstudied．Basedonthese，anovelandlowcosttimesynchronizationalgorithm，whichissuitablefordensenetwork，ispresented．Itcombinedunidirectionalreferencebroadcast，pair-wisemechanismandleasttwicemulti仔equencyevaluationSOthatonlyonenodeinbroadcastdomainneeds

7、timesynchronizationtOit．Time-stampingatMAClayerandfrequencyevaluationmakeitachievesagoodprecisionandlowerenergy．ComparedtoRBSandTPSN，ouralgorithmreducecommunicationmessagegreatly,savesalotofenergyandgotafeatureofhighprecisioninlongtermtime．Fromtheresultsofs
