2、GCPs)，andgeneratingcompleteDEMsfromseveralindependentmodelsofthesameperiod，hasveryimportantsignificance．Firstly,itwouldbehelpfultoreducethefieldworksofconstructingandmaintenanceofGCPsandsavemoney．Secondly,itcanmakefulluseofthosequiteoldpre—disasterdata，alth

3、oughitisimpossibletosetupvalidGCPsforthembeforedisasteroccurrence．Inaddition，itcancreateconditionsformonitoringterrainchangeswithmulti-temporalDEMs．PUWAIGOU，atypicaldebris·flowvalleyalongChengdu-Kunmingrailway,southwestChina,isadoptedasexperimentalareatores

4、earchthegenerationandaccuracyanalysisofDEMwithoutGCEWithaerialphotographsoftheyear1987and1957，andGCPsoftheyear2003asbasicdata,DEMsoftheyear1987aregeneratedwithGCPsonJX4DigitalPhotogrammetricWorkstation，andDEMsoftheyear1957aregeneratedwithandwithoutGCPsrespe

5、ctively．ThenbycomparingthetwokindsofDEMedgematchdifference，analysisthedifferenceofthetwokindsofabsoluteorientationaccuracyispossible．Theexperimentalresultsshowthatforthesamepairofaerialphotographsoftheyear1987and1957，theedgematchdifferenceofDEMwithoutGCPsis

6、smallerthanthosewithGCPsones，andtheedgematchdifferenceprecisionofDEMwithoutGCPsincreasesbyanaverageof35．9％，whichisclassifiedintotwotypes：forwardoverlapping(49．7％)，sideoverlapping(15．2％)．TheresultsalsosuggestthatforthesamepairOfaerialphotographswithoutstable
